if you’re not of the Islamic faith, it’s not a terribly welcoming place to visit. I was fortunate enough to take a brief tour of the place (only after properly covering my shoulders and knee caps with long and slightly embarrassing cloths).
i took this photo because it’s beautiful and a bit shocking in context; some of the holiest real estate in the world, and here children use it as a wide open soccer pitch. magical and mildly amusing. what can we learn from this?
